Today is the Day to Defy Normal

Posted on October 11 2018

Today (October 11th) is International Day of the Girl. For nearly 170 million children (11% of the world's population of children), normal is working as child labourers instead of going to school. Picking cotton in Uzbekistan, spinning yarn in India, sewing in Bangladesh. We choose to #DefyNormal and invite you to join us.

By choosing gifts that do good, you are supporting women artisans who are not only fairly paid for their talents, but also are turning normal upside down--creating communities where they can send their daughters to schools instead of factories; send them out to play instead of picking cotton.

For the rest of October, we will be donating 10% of all sales to Plan Canada's Because I Am A Girl campaign. Help us Defy Normal (and get a head start on your holiday shopping). Win/win.
